A group of us have been making the ‘Ellie’ our regular place to go for a while now. Mostly because the atmosphere is warm and welcoming and Sunday evenings they have an ‘all-you-can-eat’ traditional Indian cuisine buffet for a very reasonable price. The food is excellent and the quality has been consistently good for months. All of us (sometimes 10 or so of us at a time) enjoy this place a lot and some of us can be a wee bit picky! The staff are always friendly and the ‘main man’ always comes out for a chat. They’re all such good people and can’t seem to do enough for us. so ‘thank you and well done’ to all at ‘the Ellie’

After finding out this was the same team that backed one of my favourite indian restaurant I knew that I had to try it. The flavours and quality of freshness off the food matches that that I remembered well. There is a great atmosphere that makes you feel welcome and at home. They serve alcohol so if you fancy it you can have it with your meal, they also have a pool table to play on. I had something light which was Saag Aloo, Garlic and cheese Naan and two Vegetable Samosa’s and I felt stuffed after. Service of course was impeccable as i’ve come to learn from such a great team.

What an absolutely delicious meal we had on a Monday evening for a little date night out!! The atmosphere was lovely. Delightful and attentive waitresses and the owner was also very attentive and quite lovely too! Starting with crispy thin poppadoms and dips and then home made onion bhajis- (gorgeous)! Our main meal came soon after. I had the Hyderabad “Dum” Byriani, which came in a sealed, beautiful mason type jar, holding in all the exquisite spices and flavours of what was, without doubt, the best Byriani I’ve ever had!! Hubby had a very delicious, not too hot , Railway Lamb dish. The peshwari Naan and mint dip only served to enhance the deliciousness of the whole meal!! Would visit this place again and again!! Loved it

We dropped by early on a Friday evening, without notice, having decided it would be better to stop and eat than to sit in traffic on the M4. Such an excellent decision. We were met by the owner, Abbs, who is charming, and has a warmth evident in the greetings of all the locals who approached him. The restaurant occupies a part of the local pub, and the atmosphere is lively and convivial. The food was yummy. We had a couple of chicken dishes, and some side dishes, and ate far too much. There was so much that we should really have taken a doggie bag, but we took our time and ate everything. I feel that the staff had to open both doors to let us out. Service was friendly and attentive, and it was nice to see the staff being treated so well, and smiling. I am so glad we stopped here for dinner. Very friendly, good food, lively homely atmosphere and good quantities. Wishing you much success and longevity. Thank you for a very good evening.

Wow! What can I say the Elephant is a lovely cosy pub/restaurant which serves up some delicious Indian cuisine. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was presented beautifully and tasted fresh and well balanced. I decided to try something different from my usual, so I went for the kerala murg. It was a great choice and it paired really well with the saag ponir I had too. Overall I can’t recommend the Elephant enough. I will certainly be returning soon.

The food was amazing. The best Indian food I have had for ages. I had the Honey Garlic Jinga for starter and Royal Bengal Bream for main. Really lovely, subtle spicing without too much heat and light and delicate. The accompanying dish that came with the bream was amazing. I am coming back for the Seabass Sensation.
